Saluda has developed closed loop neuromodulation technology that enables the recording and measurement of electrical nerve signals travelling up and down the spine in real time on the same electrode array that is used for stimulation.
The technology records signals from the nerve (called electrically evoked compound action potentials or ECAPS) and adjusts stimulation levels in real time to maintain a constant evoked potential. Early clinical results indicate that closed loop neuromodulation provides patients with more consistent and accurate stimulation levels, resulting in more effective blocking of pain.
